This was the heading to the message from Orbitz in my inbox. When I read it I just had to smile... I mean, as if I haven't been preparing since before I even heard whether or not my application got accepted!!! Seriously, I pulled my suitcases out months ago.... mind you they just sat there on my floor until I actually started packing them last week, but that's beside the point... Every day I saw them sitting there, and every day a million thoughts raced through my head about what it was going to be like going so far away from home and for a longer time then I ever had before! And now the time to say goodbye to friends and family, throw my bags in the back of the car, and head off to the airport is just a day away!
Amidst the flurry and all the running around here and there doing this and that to get ready, a certain scripture keeps coming to mind,
"Come now you who say, 'Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit' - yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, 'If the L-rd wills, we will live and do this or that.' " James 4:13-15
So, L-rd willing, I'm off to Kenya!
